Pixilation is a stop motion technique in which live actors are used as a frame-by-frame subject in an animated film. We had always been looking for a chance to try this technique in our work. Finally, we found an opportunity to make an animated music video for the song “Khoshhalam” (I’m happy) by Sirvan Khosravi. The intense production process took around two months. We ended up not only using pixilation but also applying various other techniques such as time-lapse, object animation, cut out, and light animation. All of the visual effects in this video is captured by the camera. We only edited minor details and color correction in the post.
