This video was used as a teaser for the first international poster competition of “Peshmerga; keeper the peace.” Peshmerga (Before death, or those who face death) are the military forces of the central region of Iraqi Kurdistan. The client asked us to illustrate a sense of national pride with an epic flavor in the video.

A famous Kurdish proverb says, “A Kurd does not have any friend but the mountain.” So we found rocks as an interesting metaphor for the concept of peshmerga and Kurdistan geography. Thus, we collected several baskets full of different sizes of rocks and used them for making this under camera stop motion animation.
